Today, many phone manufacturers are joining the competitive phone market to attract consumers’ attention, including Acer. Introducing to you NeoTouch P300, the new mobile phone from Acer is said to come with the updated design and features. To know further what exactly this smartphone brings to the horizon, let’s take a deeper look to its details.

Physically, Acer NeoTouch P300 is housed in metallic band that completes the edge of the phone added with black finish. However, the phone’s design looks lighter and slimmer compared to the Omnia Pro. P300 has taken the QWERTY keyboard style into the design and some significant items included such as the standard headphone jack located at the top, mini-USB port and the microSD card slot that are securely hidden behind the plastic flap. Unfortunately, the P300’s design is still far from the solid and attractive design of HTC’s Touch Pro2.

Accordingly, looking closer to how the smartphone is designed, the sliding mechanism feels little bit uncomfortable compared to Samsung or the HTC models, whereas the battery cover is merely a tad plastic. The overall design of QWERTY keyboard have poor layout. There are four rows of the keyboard keys and the letters on the top row shared with the number keys. And the drawback of this design is that the punctuation marks must be accessed through the function key and this is not effective. Also, when you are typing, the glossy keys seem like pretty sticky to use. Moreover, the keys are arranged too close from one to another so it doesn’t give you convenient way when typing message.

Furthermore, this mobile phone runs on the newest version of Microsoft’s Windows Phone 6.5.3 operating system. Actually, this Windows Phone operating system is designed as a more finger-friendly operating system. Thus, the result of this attempt is the new ribbon located at the bottom of the interface which has become the home to some of touch controls.

Taken as an example is the Start button which is previously found on the top of the screen has been moved to the new ribbon. In fact, there are more context-sensitive buttons available as well. Another example, when you open the Today virtual page, through interface you will see the button shows up on the ribbon may direct you to the contact immediately.

However, even though this Windows Phone tries to prove as the more user-friendly operating system, this latest version needs to work harder if it wants to be equal to Android or iPhone regarding the performance of the total user experience.

Apart from this significant weakness, the Windows Phone operating system in 6.5.3 version provides you several attractive features such as the ability to send or receive emails or the easy performance whenever you want to drag and drop icons in the Start menu. To drag and drop icons to the new location, all you need to do is just tap and hold on the icons you pick until you can see the icon is able to be shifted upwards which means the icon is ready to be moved and let it go after you find the best location.

Moreover, this operating system is also enabling you to speed up the page representation in the Internet Explorer. Even though it is supported with limited Flash, the application allows you to see simple animations. However, the low frame rate of the videos produced is virtually unwatchable and in the end the handset can be so unresponsive. As additional features, there are YouTube video player, Blogger, Flickr, and Facebook to assist your needs of social networking through internet.
