ASUS VW266H

ASUS VW266H Review

For some people, the size of monitor may influence their satisfaction in viewing pictures or videos. Sometimes the larger is the better, let’s say like VW266H monitor from ASUS. Apparently, this monitor is measured at 26 inch and it is the largest monitor ASUS ever manufactured.

Just like other standard under-30-inch monitors, this display uses a 1920×1200 resolution, this makes the monitor deserves the title of “FullHD” monitor. In particular, VW266H offers two flavors and it comes with built-in web cam.

Compared to other ASUS’s monitors, VW266H is almost identical. The special silver accent that stretches along the bottom over the black plastic frame is also visible through this HD monitor. This design is specially created to camouflage the controls, so you will only see the clear ASUS logo at the front and the back side of the monitor. Also, the HDMI insignia is placed on the bottom of the bezel at the left side and the model number of VW266H is located on top at the right side.

The major features provided through VW266H are DVI and VGA. In fact, the monitor also supports HDMI. Moreover, there are built-in speakers which are placed near the bottom of the display that produce a good quality sound from any connected HDMI and RCA cables. If you wish to connect external sound system, the built-in speakers can be disabled simply through display’s OSD.

Still similar to other models, VW266H is created with typical monitor stand. However, the stand is created with the only useful function like tilting, this way you will not be able to heighten, pivot, or rotate the monitor into the direction you desire. And the monitor unfortunately doesn’t come with sturdier material. Furthermore, the company includes a wire management system in the form of plastic clip coupled to the monitor neck so you can hide the wires from sight.

Perhaps, the monitor that brings high density screen can be much more preferable because it delivers sharper image quality. Unlike other higher density screen, this monitor only offers 1920×1200 resolution. However, this will depend on individual’s taste because most people don’t pay much attention on the measure of monitor’s pixel.

More specifically, VW266H display is packed with a TN panel. This panel provides reduced angles in exchange for higher response rates. Accordingly, a TN panel is a valuable feature that supports fast motion for example you may have perfect game playing without ghosting. On the other hand, the other panel technologies are already developed to meet the point where the benefit is insignificant.

Moving closer to the front side of ASUS VW266H monitor, there are some controls visible, such as Spendid/Exit which selects preset color profiles, Volume/Down, Menu, Brightness/Up and the power button. In details, OSD is sort of typical or standard system you can find on many other ASUS monitors.
