What is this Samsung RF710 all about? Perhaps you will draw better conclusion about this notebook if you hadn’t read the details of HP’s Envy 17. It seems true that these two notebooks carry a sleek and sophisticated design, but after collecting the details from the whole performance, the Envy 17 looks more superior. Of course that conclusion is not surprising because RF17 costs more than $1,000 less.

With the nearly the same dimensions, RF710 is lighter than Envy 17 because the Samsung notebook is primarily made from plastic material, whereas the Envy 17 is supported with an all-metal chassis. But RF710 is constructed for a nice looking with a metallic finish offsetting the Chiclet keyboard as well as a glossy black finish on the lid and screen bezel.

Compared to Envy 17, Samsung RF710 carries screen with a lower quality at 1600 x 900 and it displays less-vibrant colors. This machine can be connected to a larger display by using HDMI or VGA port, the Blu-ray movies are delivered nicely through the notebook’s optical drive.

Although there are some cons you will find on Samsung RF710, this notebook still includes remarkable processor, the same 1.6 GHz Core i7-720QM packed by Envy 17. This performance achieved similar leads on the zero-point in the content creation benchmarks and in ProShow.

Lenovo will release a new laptop called Lenovo T420 which is powered by Intel Core i7-2820QM 2.3GHz quad-core processor. It features 14 inch display (1600 x 900 pixel), Lenovo Rapid Drive Technology, and runs on Windows 7 Home Basic operating system.

The Lenovo ThinkPad T420 has the ability to support multiple monitor usage and comes included with enhanced video function.

This Lenovo ThinkPad T420 will be available February 2011. Unfortunately, there is no information on pricing at this time.
